Welcome to the

Intergenerational
Collaboration Initiative

The Intergenerational Collaboration Initiative is a movement dedicated to fostering collaboration and understanding among individuals of different generations.

My belief is simple: by bringing together people from various age groups, we can create a stronger, more connected community. Through dialogue, shared experiences, and mutual respect, I aim to bridge the generation gap and create positive change.

ICI’s mission is to create opportunities for intergenerational dialogue, collaboration, and mentorship within organisations. I believe that by leveraging the collective wisdom, experiences, and perspectives of people from different generations, we can address societal challenges, promote personal growth, and foster a sense of belonging.

Through the educational programs and events, my aim is to build connections that enrich lives and empower individuals of all ages.

By creating the Intergenerational Collaboration Initiative, my vision is to pioneer a new era of collaboration and understanding across generations in Romania. As the first initiative of its kind in the country, I would love it to become a catalyst for positive change, breaking down barriers and fostering meaningful connections between people of all ages. ICI’s vision is to lead the way in promoting intergenerational dialogue.

When I say ICI, I literally say "I See Eye". People want to belong, to connect and to create things together. They want to make eye contact. My eye sees your eye and then our doors open, we acknowledge a fundamental truth: irrespective of age, generation, body structure, gender, when we look with curiosity and kindness in the eyes of another person we grasp the common humanity that makes all of us be more or less the same: fragile and ephemeral, passionate and creative, self-oriented and generous. We are all of these at the same time, we only need to see, to listen, to be aware.

I have been an educator in various contexts for more than a decade. I saw the power people have when they learn to be considerate of the other. I also educated myself and with gratitude I was educated by others, I had inspiring mentors and I explored the fields of history, education, psychology and philosophy through my bachelor, masters and PhD. I gathered the most useful information from these disciplines in order to understand the way people work and flourish together and now I'm ready to share with you these insights. I am Andrei Stupu and I see the need to talk about what happens today, about the generations “of our time”. I see you!

The Educational Path

img-poly Workshop Overview

In today's modern workplace, companies are increasingly recognizing the value of diversity, including age diversity, within their teams. Our "Understanding Multigenerational Workforce" workshop offers companies an in-depth exploration of the unique characteristics, preferences, and communication styles of different generations in the workplace.

The Multigenerational Workforce Course is an educational experience created for exploring the truths and the myths about the active generations: baby boomers, generation X, millennials and generation Z. According to Linkedin Global Talent Trends 2020, multigenerational workforce is the fourth most important trend for the global HR world.

img-poly Learning About:

img-poly Workshop Overview

Building upon the understanding gained from the "Understanding Multigenerational Workforce" workshop, our "Unlocking Intergenerational Collaboration" session delves deeper into practical strategies for leveraging the strengths of a multigenerational workforce to drive innovation, creativity, and business success.

Generational collaboration is a must considering the characteristics of the younger generations, especially generation Z. The leading experts in generational studies say that adapting to Gen Z means getting applicants when competitors can’t and keeping Gen Z employees when others are struggling with increasing turnover.

Jason Dorsey, a global generational expert says that "Organizations that take the time to break through stereotypes and myths can create tremendous trust, teamwork, communication, and openness that unlock the potential of every generation".

img-poly Learning about:
Communication Essentials

Learn effective communication strategies tailored to the preferences and communication styles of each generation, reducing misunderstandings and enhancing collaboration.

Values bring value

Exploring values, perceptions and behaviors. Why values, ethics and morality matter most when trying to make multiple generations prosperously work together?

Age versus generation

A very important step during the process of learning about psychological characteristics of human nurture.

Human Development

Understanding some of the most important theories in developmental psychology, life stages and conscience research.

Social Justice

Defining WEIRD, woke and globalised. Generations and political correctness.

In the last session, "Unleashing Generational Diversity" we will explore key elements of employing strategies designed to assist companies in leveraging the unique strengths and perspectives of their multigenerational workforce to drive innovation, enhance team dynamics, and achieve long-term success.

Some of the biggest challenges when talking about generations is the huge amount of fake-stories that are everywhere on the internet, the most popular articles are about how outdated are the older generations and how lazy, rebellious and inexperienced are the younger ones.

Even some books on this topic from a few years ago are emphasizing on the idea that the conflict between generations is an undestroyable reality that will always create friction. And yes, that is true, but people have more things in common than differences and a smart team of HR professionals can always create the proper environment for making people thrive, grow and fulfill their true self.
